Vung Tau is fun. And you can take the hydrofoil boat from HCMC to Vung Tau.

I enjoyed Vung Tau myself. Had to go with a lot of family but it was quiet and nice. Had many things to see but I am sure you have seen Pagodas and there is a huge Jesus statue on top of a little mountain that I was forced to hike. It was worth it as the view was awesome and Places to stop and eat ice cream and stuff. Saw many places to eat and was told they are known for their seafood but wouldn't know as I was not allowed to eat anything unless it was brought with us and made by the family. Many hotels and supposed to be reasonable priced. Got a ton of pics too. Even a small vid at a little church where a lot of people were chanting an eerie cadence.
