Thanks Stinkerpotsam, I will double check with the embassy although I only have the 1 UK one which seemed pretty straightforward - did your fiance need them from other countries too?

Nope just his UK one. He went to the local police for one and they sent him to a number in Scotland that sent him back locally etc. The report he ended up with ended up not being the one they wanted....

this i134 thing is confusing, not sure what to put on question 11. can anyone help because it seems we did the right thing according the model forms on this site. what to to write???

the example VJ has for the I-134 is for all countries. The UK embassy is peculiar in that some (not all) consulate officers want to see intend to support ticked and some statement made about board and lodging. If you haven't filled out your I-134 yet then tick the intend to support box and add a comment about providing board and lodging. If you've sent it off already and the interview is imminent - don't panic. Lots of people get through with it filled out per the VJ example.

as an example Charley wrote "Board and lodging for as long as she needs it"

It was pretty boring, and the interview itself lasted about 60 seconds.

I went in and waited for 2 hours and was then called up to hand in my documents, get fingerprinted, pay for the visa (£89 today), and then was told to go sit down and wait until called again.

Then another 2 hours later, my number was called and I went for the interview part. She was really nice and friendly, and just asked how long I had known my fiancée, where we met, what her birthday was, what she did for a living, and when we planned on getting married.

She then said "I'm delighted to approve your visa", I went and paid the courier, and then left with a huge grin on my face!
