Congrats Nich-Nick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

So it took a total of 10 months and 1 week for Nick to become a green-card holder (since you began the process for K-1)!

Very impressive (considering it has been 8+ months and we have yet to go the interview!)

No it took from start to finish 1 year and a few weeks. There's some time in there after the K1 approval before he came over (2 months) but we did marry the 5th day after he entered the country and then mailed AOS four days after that. I had all the paperwork ready and all we needed was the marriage certificate, fill in a few dates, him sign things, make copies, and triple check it. So we did do a speedy filing for AOS after he entered.

If you all want to continue to help each other through AOS, then bookmark this thread because Mags moved it out of the UK forum and it will get buried quickly amongst the AOS masses. UK AOS thread

And I made a spreadsheet to track your progress and answer your "how long did it take you to get_____" questions. Bookmark that too if you want to participate.

UK AOS Progress Timeline

Here's a tip to remember. Most of you are used to everybody being in the K1/K3 boat. When you start dipping into the AOS forums, you will find people are adjusting from many things and their applications/requirements vary somewhat. People adjust from not only K1 but student visas, work visas, nanny visas, or VWP visitors who didn't bother to go home within 90 days. So if you post and somebody replies you need to take a full medical in the US or send in an I-130 petition, check out what visa they are adjusting from. K1/K3s don't do that. The AOS forum is a BIG melting pot of situations, but there is alot of useful information.

Thankums for the info Nich...hopefully it's not going to take long for all of us to get to that stage, for those who are waiting.

:ot:

I saw Ghost again for the first time in a while, didn't get beyond this song because I was gripped with an uncontrollable urge to learn how to play it. I don't know why I didn't think of learning it before because it's such a timeless, gorgeous piece of music. I've been serenading that to Knight since with my guitar (or without) and I think this aptly expresses what we're all thinking (yes, I'm mushy). :: blush :: He couldn't talk after I played it to him, and it's been stuck in both our heads since.

:P Now it's going to be stuck in all of yours.

Hello,

new to this UK thread. We have our interview on the 24th of April 2009, so yes i'm bricking it, i'm in constant floods of tears, i've thought of every scenario ( good and bad) and I think it become a tiny bit of madness. I would love someone s support through this it seems like few ppl know what its like to miss someone so much that you feel like a dead woman walking. help????

Also can anyone tell me if its ok to bring W2's instead of tax returns? just wondering

I would say tax returns are a better idea, unless like Stinky Monkey, the 2008 return wasn't ready, so she brought a 2007 return and the 2008 W2 for extra proof. For AOS you 100% for sure have to have a tax return complete with W2. But the I-134 is a little easier and the decision is somewhat subjective, so if W2 shows income well over the 125% level then it's probably okay proof. You do have at least one other proof too, don't you?
