The only thing that comes to mind right now is something that was said to my friend, during Eid,

someone said Happy Eidster to her, people say the craziest things,

I know for sure people always ask about the 72 virgins,

at work when I walk in the room people say DUCK, as if I carry bombs

my husband is a shoemaker and they asked if he made the shoes for Richard Reid, the guy who tried to light the dynamite he had in his shoe, while he was on an airplane

one guy at work says my husbands currency is Frankenscense and Muhr, and little gold bits

so as a joke , for his wedding I bought him a bottle of Frankinscense, and chocolate gold coins, and put that in a separate bag for him, his wife was so confused

if i think of something else i will write to you

Happy waiting

Ha the airline jokes always get me I have developed a fondness for them since I work for one. They tease me about my soon to be name........ do you think you will scare the pax (passangers) away?

THAT ROCKS LOVE IT.............. I am sure his wife slapped him when she figured out what it was all about.

Thanks for the smiles and laughs HIGHLY appreciated.

easter ha ha *** still residual laughter from that one.

This doesn't really have much to do with him being a MENA SO but...

I have been asked several times and I know others have as well:

So, what do they cook for Thanksgiving in Egypt? DUH :P

Whats really funny is my grandma asked the same question.... :bonk:

Its like some people forget not everyone is from america we dont all have the same holidays but at least they are showing interest right ?

You're right...they (my family) do show interest so that is a blessing (F)

I do remember my first trip to Jordan years ago to visit my cousins and when I returned home from my summer vacation to school....fellow students asked me if I rode camels and lived in tents.:wacko: When I showed them pictures of my cousins home, their cars and fast food places, they were in shock.

Thanks Courtney! That was their "santa's helper" photo shoot with Daddy! :P They are so much fun to dress up..seems they love to pose for the camera.

Goofy...no doubt but my Aunts in Jordan believed some crazy SH*T about the US too! :P I remember them asking me the most ridiculous questions about society and life here. Although they do know our history and news 1000 times better than most Americans :P

Are you gonna have to start wearing that thing on your head?

This one is my personal favorite

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

He's a terrorist and your gonna end up dead one day.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

well, for anyone that recommends u that movie, u can recommend zeitgeist. u might watch it too. is up on google movies. I think it has been banned in american theatres, but i might be wrong on that one. doesnt present only one subject, goes through all kind of world "fevers". arabic/terrorism-phobia is one of them. and is nicely elaborated.

enjoy life,

Andreea
