Hello all,

My fiance will be arriving in Chicago tomorrow night! And I have a quick question- I read that his medical stuff will be sent to the nearest USCIS office to where he'll be living. The USCIS website tells us that the nearest office will be in Minnesota for us, but it would be much more convenient for us to go to Milwaukee, WI (my family leaves near there and we could stay with them). We will be living in Wisconsin, so it makes sense... Is there any way to request that? Or would this not be the time to do so? Thanks much!

Hope my question make sense.

Happy Holidays :)

Caity

If a new address is involved, different than the one used in the petition, then notify USCIS as quickly as possible by phone or online.

Well- it is different than the one we had put on the petition. So I need to contact USCIS now? Is he able to just tell them tomorrow of our new address, or no?

I guess my question was: with our new address, it says we'll be going to the MN office, but we'd much rather make the drive to Milwaukee, WI. Is there any way to request that, or don't they listen to those types of requests?

There is no need to notify anyone of a change of address as you have imminent plans to file your adjustment. Your address will be noted when you file.

Insofar as requesting that your case be handled by a different office, the answer is no.

An alien is required to file an AR-11 (Change of Address) within 10 days of moving and a sponsor to file an I-865, so unless you plan to file for AOS straight away, you should be completing these (mentioned) forms some time in the near future.

As for requesting a specific office, that's likely not going to happen. Assume it won't change.
