How long do you get the VISA after the interview?

My wife is not sure what to tell her work, she is saying it will be a MONTH after the interview before she gets it, but I don't want her to tell her work that, get the VISA early, and then not be able to move for a few weeks after waiting so long.

So what is the average wait time for the VISA?

Depends on consulate, some issue it shortly after interview, other can take days even weeks.

Pleas fill in your profile with country and what you filed for, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01

I don't have all of the info so I can't fill in all of the timeline stuff.

Also, we're interviewing in Montreal. And everything has been going quickly so far. But when you say "a few weeks" is that 3 or more? Or just one or two?

The discrepancy between days and weeks is vast.

Thanks for the reply, YuAndDan.

Does that 5 days include shipping? We fly in for our interview early in the morning (around 1am) and then leave that night.

Yes the few in timelines that show more than 1 day, may be due to additional processing and mailing.

Montreal keeps your passport and mails their visas out, so they say it can take from 5-7 business days to get it back in the mail. Hope this helps

Make sure you take your expresspost envelope to the interview :) Good luck *mine is in January*.
