AOS interview, HPV vaccine?

Hello,

I have my AOS interview in Chicago on January 22nd 2009. I received my medical exam in London on April 5th when applying for the K-1 visa. However, I am female under 26 and did not have the HPV vaccine-- the only one on my list not to have been completed.

I read that if medicals are conducted before 1st August 2008 the HPV vaccine is not required. Does anyone know for sure if this is correct? Is it likely that the officers will check my medical history again if I've already been approved for the interview?

I just want to check whether or not the HPV is absolutely necessary for me to have? Any advice would be great!

Does the AOS interview appointment letter specify that you bring an I-693 to the interview?

If not the do not worry about this.

It says to bring the I-963 unless already submitted (which it has been, for my K1). I am just concerned that they will check and see that the HPV is the only vaccine still pending...do you think this is likely, or will they most likely be concentrating on interviewing my husband and I?

Thanks for answering...

i think HPV is compulsory...Ask your civil surgeon Doctor if you want to be sure. I know it sucks this vaccine is expensive and so controversal!!!

You could print this page from the USCIS website http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0004718190aRCRD

and point out the part that says this:

Q: When will the new vaccination requirements become effective?

The new vaccination requirements became effective on July 1, 2008. However, CDC approved a 30 day grace period until August 1, 2008. Therefore, for any medical exam conducted on or after August 1, 2008, the new vaccinations, if appropriate, must be administered in order for USCIS to approve the applicant for adjustment of status.

and in the chart toward the bottom

Date of Medical Exam Before June 1, 2008

Do I have to submit the revised Form I-693? NO

Does the medical exam have to be done in accordance with the new TB requirements? NO

Do I have to receive the new vaccines (if age appropriate?) NO
