My fiance'e will be going to the Dubai consulat for her interview..there web sight says bring 3 years tax returns..? will my collagge transcripts showing i graduated in Dec 2004 be sufficant enough to prove i graduated late 2004 and started working mid 2005 be sufficant...Oh it should be pretty intresting since she is from Iran....I will be accompaning her to the consult for her interview....i hope given the current political cliamet...there isn't a new standard to meet in order to approve a K-1 visa...thanks for everyones help in advance....

Are you saying you haven't sent in the I-129F petition yet? If so, you don't need to worry about the I-134 just yet. You should wait until your petition is approved to complete the affidavit of support and collect your supporting financial documents. You want them dated as close as possible to your fiancee's interview date.

Financially, you should be ok with your current job, but you may want to get a co-sponsor just to be safe seeing as you only have 1 tax return.

The I-134 and supporting documents should be as recent as possible for the interview. Wait until you are much closer to an interview before redoing them.

Hi Fred,

Please fill out your timeline so that we can help you. Your question is confusing have you sent your I-129F package? Because if you haven’t the I-134 and its back-up documents and paperwork must be done further down the road. You are looking good with the I-134 with your new job and income. To be in the safe side you might want to have a co-sponsor and you use him/her if you need too.

Now re-reading your post I am understanding that you will submit you I-129F package in May or June? I am a little confused on your post.

I do not know anything about the U.S. Embassy in Iran. You could try the section for U.S. Embassy in different countries her on VJ website and also try for the Embassy in Iran’s website.

Good luck,

Peter Miami

thanks everone... the reason i am filling out the i-134 now is im heading to Iran on March 1st i plan on staying there for 6 months or unitll she is approved for the visa...the affidavit needs to be notirized, well im not going to be here so im doing it before hand...i was under the assumption that all paper work was ok if it was 6 months or less from the time of origniation...Iran does not have a US embassy since 1977 we all know what happen then...Its a shame it would make things so much easier for us...Dubai is are embassy that we will be going to...

I am not submitting my 129-f packet untill i get to Iran, i need some other documnets and evidence of meeting her in the past 2 years...once i have everything i am mailing the compleate packet to my father and having him forword it to the vermont immigration office...hope this helps

From reading the posts of others on this forum, there is about a 1% chance of your fiancee receiving her visa within 6 months from time you petition for her. After 9/11, every beneficiaries from the Middle East go through extra security checks at every levels. And Iran is on the "special" country list so beneficiaries from there go through even more checks.

The I-134 is valid for 1 year after you sign it. However, the consulate will probably want to know how you intend to support your fiancee if you haven't worked for more than six months.

Good luck and plan your stay in Iran for more than six months.
