It starts from 3 letters, i.e MSC followed by 10 numbers. I tried to use the # at the back of my cheque and compared that to the #s from my NOAs and it isn't the same. The last 2 digits are different.try to change it for example; the last 2 digits is let say 35....you can play around the number ...instead of 35 try to change it to 36, 37, 38, 39 or 34, 33, 32,31, 30 that's what's i've noticed when I received my NOA's and compared the number from the back of the cheques.

Yet, I can't view my case online using the receipts # from NOAs

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

Don't worry since your cheques were encashed, soon you'll be receiving you NOAs. Usually NOA were issued same date as the cheques were encashed. My NOA takes about 5 to 7 days to arrive.

Since you applied @ the CSC, look for a number on the back starting with WAC followed by #.. i.e. WAC08xxxxxxx . That is your case #. It's on the back where you would usually see the endorsemnt.

Many folks can not track their cases on the USCIS site right away - many not until after they've taken their biometrics - so the numbers you are reading on your check may indeed be correct. I don't recommend changing number combinations around since you may not be viewing your case when you do that.

On the back of the check that got cashed in my situation was MSCxxxxxxxxx0. I thought this was the number, but the CRIS system rejected it. Wasn't until I got the receipts back found out that the last number is different. The original number ending in a 0, I think it the general case number.

Not sure if this is the same for everybody, but my AOS application ended in a 1 and 6 and the EAD ended with a 4. I didn't file for AP, so not sure which number this would be, so I assume that 1 = AOS, EAD=4.
