In years past, I have been able to draw all 3 credit reports online without issues.

This year, I was only able to draw Experian online. The azzhats at Trans Union and Equifax offered all types of BS, to force a snail mail request with all kinds of identity evidence.

Trans Union: Have an online account, verified and logged on. Site offered no option for a free report. Although it did offer a copy for $10.50, credit card or online "check" options available.

Equifax: Have an online account, logged in, yet it requested my "secret answer" to the "secret question". I am 100% certain of the answer.

With Equifax, I am now required to mail in evidence of pay stubs, W-2's, DL and so forth for this report.

With Trans Union, I "may" be able to call for the report.

What a bunch of money hungry azzholes......

How about you?

I have been trying for many years to get the free annual credit reports. But every time, I get asked to send more paperwork through the mail. It drives me insane! So I just end up not doing anything.

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

i've never bothered. all the hoops they want you to jump thru don't seem worth it.

Although, the report is supposed to be free....Hassle factor was not contemplated in the original legislation. Guessing they need to modify the details. Maybe next year.

You can request one report per year for free. In certain situations, a report may be provided free of charge.

Probably the best way to access the reports is actually through https://www.annualcreditreport.com. Going to each agency directly would probably frustrating, since they will do everything to make the free report difficult to find, or try to sell you other products.

I visited that specific site, as it is the official site for the free report. Each reporting agency offers the option of creating an account, so that you can access the report for 30 days.
