Am I going to have a problem if I won`t do name change stamp before travel???

Hello everyone.

Based on what you guys told me in my other international pasport thread I now have another question.

What if I`m not going to get the name change stamp in an international pasport just yet and travel home??? So pasport is going to stay strictly on old name and greencard on the new one???

Will I have an difficulty living Russia??? Will I need to carry my marriage certificate??? Is it even possible???

04/09/2008 I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox

05/03/2008 call to USCIS because NOA1 not received ;( Got the receipt number and was told that we cannot get replacement NOA1.

08/21/2008 request for NOA1 for I-130 to file AOS placed over the phone and forwarded to VSC. Thanks to the first great Rep at USCIS hotline

10/17/2008 Hubby`s B-day, NOA1 for I-130 finally arrives!

10/21/2008 AOS sent to Chicago lockbox

10/31/2008 NOAs for AOS received

11/06/2008 I-130 is transferred to CSC

11/20/2008 biometrics done

12/02/2008 I-130 APPROVED!!!

01/02/2009 EAD received

02/12/2009 Interview APPROVED!!!

02/17/2009 welcome letter received

02/23/2009 GC received!!! yay!!!

I think the general advice goes something like 'when in Russia, use your Russian documents. When in the USA, use your USA documents'. To enter the USA, all you need is your green card for ID. Right, guys?

The ticket is going to be in your maiden name or married name, I guess. You should call the airline and ask if you should bring your marriage certificate. :)

When I travelled my ticket was in my married name but my passport in my maiden name. I just showed the marriage certificate at the Check-in.

I had no problems.

If your green card is in your married name and your passport is in your maiden name bring your marriage document to link the two. To enter the US you will need your passport and your green card.

Your ticket should be in your maiden name as this is your primary travel document. When you enter the US show them your GC and your paasport. Have a copy of your marriage certificate on hand for any questions. I did it twice and had no problem.

Use Russian documents in Russia and US when enter here. I don't think it will be a problem that tickets in different last name. I had the same situation when I went to Russia. Russian pasport with my maden name and US with other last name, tickets was issued on my US name. They never asked me any questions.
