Perhaps the problem is environmental? Global toxicity has damaged many minds.

Some global examples to go with that claim?

well i dont have any links to go back to look at but if u look back in history there didnt seem to be the problems before that there are now........even in the schools u went to learn teachers didnt have to worry about being attacked.....if there was a fight between two students they fought it out and problem was resolved now the police get called and there is a legal mess while we have moved forward with technology we seem to have forgotten some of the basic rules of humanity ........if a child is allowed to do what ever they want how can the grow up to be responsible adults? fear of being charged with child abuse has really stopped a lot of parents from any discipline and no im not talking about cattle progs or beating a child but now they way it is if a child screams child abuse they parent has to proof they didnt do anything other than take the car away........ok i will shut up now prolly have said way to much as it is

Is failure to use punctuation a sign of mental illness?

Mother/child relationships....if your mom was a bit odd...chances are, you will be too.

Yep. The apple never falls far from the tree.

Unless the father blew wind something terrible.

My 7 yr. old is dealing with a classmate, named Jack, who acts aggressively towards others (shoves them for no reason) and gets into trouble with the teacher a lot. Job says nobody likes Jack. I think something isn't quite clicking right at home for him.

I was thinking that this logically would apply to all adults as well ... no surprise really based on every day experience.

Okay, maybe I will read the whole thread's responses later.

After reading this article, I need to say:

There is no such thing as "normal".

Once the pharmaceutical industry realized how much money there was to be made, they assisted in inventing and naming disorders.

See how many types were in psychiatric books in the 60s and see how many are in there now.

It's a racket.

Eat well, have fun, laugh often, dance, travel, don't read/listen to news, oh and of course: make love.

There, that is my prescription.

SpiritAlight edits due to extreme lack of typing abilities. :)

If Jack doesn't watch it, he'll end up at the kind of school my wifes teaches at. Then his life will really suck.

I wouldn't surprise me to be honest - I suspect a fair few of us here can relate to some degree... Moving away from everything (and everyone) you know can take a toll. And not just for expatriates - I have friends who have moved around the country for work and are finding it hard to connect socially in new places.

I was reading the other day that psychologists are now saying that kids who obsess over videogames should no longer be treated as though their problem is about addiction - but rather about social alienation.

As far as that goes - its a big problem.

#######! My 4 closest friends seem pretty normal. Guess I know what that means!

I'm not friends with anyone who seems "normal" because they're the scariest ones to be around. I like the people that everyone else thinks is weird or creepy. They're the most fun :P

Mother/child relationships....if your mom was a bit odd...chances are, you will be too.

I'm screwed

Read my posts. Tell me my mind isn't damaged. I dare ya.

LOL, I am concerned about OCP, a form of OCB, but instead of obsessive compulsive behavior, it's obsessive compulsive posting. Truly a personality disorder. Planning on talking to my therapist about this, anyone else?
