N-400 December filers

Mariya passed her interview today with no problem. We were in at 9:07 and out at 10:35 am Ours was about the same as rilian described, except for one thing the IO came out to the waiting room and asked me for my ID. She took it and made a copy then came out and said we passed. I have never heard of them taking the husbands ID to copy. Now the only thing left is another 8 hour trip to Oakland for the oath ceremony.

We are very happy and very tired. It was a long two days.

I've heard before that they wanted to see the military ID of spouses, maybe to see if they were still active duty...

Don't they offer any oath ceremonies closer to where you live? I can't believe you have to take all these long trips.

Thanks Stella I had already found the number from the IRS website. Somehow I remembered that when i had seen the post earlier, you had also written which numbers to choose when prompted over the phone thats why i was searching for it. Anyway, ordered the transcripts on saturday and got them on wednesday!

Yeah - I had someone test me on all 100... and I got 5 wrong

5 out of 100 is not bad - I know... but sill - if i get those 5 questions at my interview i'm in trouble! lol

Just gotta keep studying... 1 week on monday for my interview... the butterflies are really getting busy lol

I received the CFR (yellow form) today, does this mean anything at all? like will I be receiving the interview letter soon?

Interestingly, the CFR is dated on the 3rd year anniversary of my green card!

Also, I called the irs for tax transcript and they told me I need to complete the form 4506-T and fax or mail it.

For some reason, I thought I read on this thread somewhere that I could request the transcript by phone and that it was faster that way.

Any suggestion!

Yes, you can use the automated system over the phone to request transcripts...

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you waited until now? it can take a good month at least to get your transcripts... I requested my prior 3 years before I filed my N400, and then my 2008 transcripts as soon as the IRS was done processing my 2008 tax return (when i got my refund)

I ordered my 3 yrs of transcripts by phone on a Saturday and had them in the mail by the next Thursday.

When I called for the transcripts I got an automated system and I just had to punch in numbers. I never talked to an actual person. I also received my transcripts fairly fast.

To Jamie, I did not think I needed to get a transcript, since I kept a copy of all my tax returns. In the CFR, they requested either tax return or transcript... SO, I decided I better have both just in case!

Good idea.

To be honest I got the transcripts just to be safe also - my actual return was e-filed and so the copy I have... well i was not confident about how legitimate it would look.

A transcript covers all the bases.

The other tax issue I had is now resolved... well at least not hanging over me - I can dispute it properly after citizenship! At least I know it's not hanging over me.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you and I will receive our oath letter soon. Seems like there's an oath ceremony in my town in about three weeks, so I might have to wait a little longer.

Count me in... I know there is a ceremony about 200 yards from my office on April 16 and I want to be there!! The oath letter just can't arrive quick enough!

The next ceremony after the one on the 16th is on the same day my wife graduates from college and there is no way I am going to miss her walk after 4 years of hard studying. If I don't get a letter for the ceremony in 2 weeks I'm going to have to wait until June 18.

There was a ceremony yesterday, and I fantasized a miracle would happen and that I would get an oath letter for that one, but no luck. Now I'm hoping for April 15th. But I think it will end up being May 5th.
