Hello all,

Thanks to everyone who has posted sooo much helpful info. This site is wonderful.

So...after checking and checking again...a bit of last minute (overwhelmed) confusion...

Do I need to include the I-134 with my I-129F Petition? I prepared it but don't see it on the checklist. Is it only for the 'interview' step?

Also, must I include the FC-029 (or have any docs Notarized) if I included the "Copies of documents are exact photocopies..." statement on my my signed cover letter?

I hope this is clear...just wanna be absolutely sure!

Thank you,

jd

If you are filing for a K1 fiance visa as far as I know you do not need to send it yet. I think you can if you want but they may still want it for the interview anyhow.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

We are also sending ours off very soon.

Good Luck.

Nope, the I-134 is used at the interview stage and does not need to be submitted at this time.

We also did not have anything notarized for the I-129F. Instead, on the cover letter, we wrote "Unaltered copy of petitioner's birth certificate" and such for things we photocopied. We did not use the FC-029 (hadn't even heard of it before your post).

Best of luck!

The I-134 is not part of the Petition and is submitted at the interview. I did not have anything notarized for my petition. My cover letter included the same statement about photo copies being exact duplicates of the original documents. The only things I had notarized during the entire process were the I-134 and my timeline of our relationship, both of which were submitted at the interview.

A note about the timeline and other forms of evidence of the relationship: I did not include any evidence of our relationship in my petition, only evidence of having met in the past two years. Our case was approved, but I would strongly recommend including any evidence of your relationship that you have now with your petition, including a notarized timeline. The reason is that in many cases the CO may have already made a decision on your case before the interview. In our case, the CO already had the pink slip filled out before the interview and signed it after asking a few questions and looking at our photos. He never looked at any other piece of evidence at the interview. So, any evidence you can provide before the interview is very helpful. The timeline is not included on any checklist. I had read about couples having to submit one at the interview, so, I emailed our Embassy to inquire about this. I received a standard reply that timelines are requested on a case by case basis at the time of the interview. I wanted to avoid any possible delays, so, I sent a notarized timeline for my fiancee to have at the interview just in case it was requested. It was not, but I still recommend doing so. Better safe than sorry.

Good luck!

the timeline is in relation to this website. it will calculate estimates of your approximate expected waiting time using the processing times of other users from the website.

Actually, what I'm refering to is a different timeline altogether. Some Embassies, HCMC being one of them, will ask for a chronological timeline of the relationship as part of the evidence. I basically wrote a list of all important dates during our relationship and injected paragraphs at certain points to give a more complete description of our relationship. I included how we met, how we communicated, when I sent gifts, when I visited and what we did. Prety much all the personal details that are not included in the timelines associated with our profiles here in VJ.

Good luck!
