Wanted to add this: anyone here with experience regarding bringing dogs over?

Besides me and my son, both my sighthounds will have to come along.

Already looked into the vaccinations and stuff.

And now finding about what travelboxes I need. Still not sure if I will risk buying second hand or if i should get out the money for new boxes from which I know they are approved for most flightcompanies.

I dont know for sure about pets Peet, i've seen ppl bringing them in the plane tho. They take them with a little bus called the 'pet safe' so maybe you can just bring them with u? Maybe call the airport and find out how it works and if you need special documents?

For bringing over boxes etc i posted something a while ago to liz and pat i think. Im not sure yet how im going to move my stuff, still looking around. If you have good tips, they are welcome!!

Did you hear anything about ur case recently? We didnt hear anything since our NOA1 receipt:( we also cant check the status online....hows that with you?

Nothing here yet, but we filed last week of Dec. so it is not too long ago.

I had no trouble finding our case on line.

But it doesn't tell you anything new.

What I did do was looking at our place at Igor's list. We went up 5 places last night.

I do hope that means that 5 cases got approved.

At least it gives me some idea of things happening.

Liz is very quiet, I hope they got their stuff filed yesterday.

I know i asked if Pat arrived there but i think they are too busy together there;)

We just keep getting errors when we check the receipt number, but we called uscis and they said our case was pending, so yeah i think they are too busy to update it. (lets hope so) theres ppl that got approved that couldnt check their cases online the whole time either so i hope its ok!

Yeah i think 6 ppl got approved at vermont yesterday!! feels so good that they are moving faster! cant wait till the day we get our NOA2, i prob wont even believe we go it!

Ahh ArubaDolphin, sorry I haven't replied yet. I find it very hard to see what is new and old here at visajourney with so much activity!

We didn't file anything to do with our marriage with the I-130, or later on with the DS-230 and I-864. I made a website with our photos on a year ago, so our families can see us doing our thing on both sides of the pond. I'm hoping that will help. Other than that, we have a tonne of photos of us in Paris, Amsterdam, The Hague, London, etc. that we hope will help. Other than that, we have a joint bank account in Oklahoma (I live in such a small town that the bank manager let me join without an SSN, so that's lucky!) but other than all that, we don't have that much to show other than our personal circumstances, which I can't repeat online as I used to be a member of the Armed Forces, but which are very specific and will definitely prove us as a real couple, of that I am certain.

Taxes. We only provided 1 year of my Mother-in-law's taxes, her W-4 paystub (??) and a letter with proof of employment, but again this is purely coincidental as we are very lucky that she makes good money, to the point where we felt it didn't matter (and as of 2 days ago, we heard it went through fine). Kourtni only filed a letter of employment and w-4 thingies as she doesn't earn that much yet and we're mainly dependant on her mother until we get settled there, as we're going away to work together on a contract.

- OUR TIMELINE -

04/25/08 - sent I-130 to Chicago lockbox

05/05/08 - received NOA1, assigned to VSC

11/07/08 - transferred to CSC

12/16/08 - NOA2 by email - I-130 approved

12/20/08 - NOA2 in mail - 240 days

12/22/08 - NVC receive package

01/05/09 - we receive AOS Bill and DS-3032

02/12/09 - medical 04th Mar 2009 - NVC Complete - 314 days

04/28/09 - interview passed - 370 days

06/20/09 - visa arrived by courier

06/21/09 - POE Dallas Fort-Worth - 398 days to gain permanent residence (CR-1)

02/22/11 - Sent I-765 to Vermont Service Center

03/03/11 - Received receipt for I-765

04/04/11 - AOS interview and biometrics in Oklahoma City - took all of 20 minutes, no sweat

Currently waiting on my 10-year Green Card - Best wishes to everyone going through their journey!

Whohoo, just talked to my other half, and we decided to see if we can plan a trip to the US for my son and me

I wasn't counting on any trips to the US before we get our visa's done, but after much thought we decided it might be wise to visit the school my son will go to.

We are going to find out what this school needs, and if we can set up a meeting for the May vacation.

It will be such a welcome break in the waiting period.

And it will be so good to see each other during this waiting period ^_^

Wouldn't that be great, if it came that early?

But I am not counting on it.

Sure would love to be there the end of summer, beginning of fall.

And there is Pennsylvania.

My son is 14, very exiting time for him also.

Hey everyone!!! Sorry we've been so quiet....hehe...been a bit busy running around! LOL!

We've had one week together and it's been wonderful having him here again! I don't want next Monday to come....:-(

As for our filing, we hit a minor snag and didn't get it filed last week...............HOWEVER....we just finished printing it and will be taking it to the post office first thing tomorrow morning....so i can officially say we've filed!!!!!

Peet - Pat wanted me to pass on some info.....if your dog is needed for medical reasons, such as a sight dog, you should be able to take them with you on the plane for no fee since they are medically necessary. HOWEVER....this was the information he received from Continental Airlines so you should check with the airline you'll be using to make sure they do the same. And I'm excited for you and your son and your impending trip!!! I hope your able to go soon!

Jeanine - Sorry I didn't post sooner....Pat and I have been out doing things during the day and spending time with my daughter at night so haven't had much computer time!

Hi to Paul, Nikki, ArubaDolphin....and anyone else I missed!

I'll be back as soon as I can!!!

Hugs to you all!!!

liz

Hugs, Liz
