Thank you! Its been a long time coming, FIVE years to be exact hehe but we finally did it. As for DCF here, as long as the american is a resident of the Netherlands you can file here at the consulate. Long time ago the american didnt even need to reside here, just as long as they were married in the Netherlands they could file and fly away the next day and leave it to the Dutchie to do all the work

Hi Lainie!!! Welcome to the thread and congrats on your recent wedding!!!

I haven't met anyone on here yet that has done DCF so it'll be cool to follow your process and see how it's done. My best friends sister is from Texas and lives in Holland with her husband and kids and we wondered about doing DCF for her but I wasn't sure it could be done.....hehe...now i know it can!! :star:

Hugs, Liz

When I first came here in 2003 we went to City hall and applied for a residency permit for me, just needed my birth certificate and passport and proof from my then-fiance that he could support me and i could stay! I had to take some dutch classes for a year or so, but that was worth it. It was soooo much easier to come here than it is to go to the USA together!

lizandpat- TY for the warm welcome! :D I'll keep ya updated on our journey

Jeanine :star:

Its been a year yes... but I pretty much had all of my stuff together. I lived in london for 5 years, so i had to get a police record for that country too, which took some time. I believe the Dutch Embassy takes care of that for you! How lief! But you can remind me about some things you need to get together and i'll remember! =)

There is link in the bottom of my post. It goes to my blog, if you go to Nov 2007, the first time i posted, you will find some of my experiences with the embassy. By then i have already recieved my NOA2, i believe.

Where is everybody else at?

It can be any time, i know of people that got a 'touch' on the weekend! Everything is later. I dont recall getting an email at all now that i think of it..

Its going to catch you off guard, dont wait 'too much'. You'll be okay.
