Another I-864 question

Hi all,

Any help with this would be appreciated..my husband and I filed his EAD and AOS paperwork late last week, and I, being a US citizen with a full-time job, am his sponsor on the 864. As of the past two years, I have been making well above the poverty line; however, I was a student in 2005 and certainly did not make $17,500. My question is: will this be frowned upon? Should we have asked my parents to be a co-sponsor? Or will my income for 2006, 2007, and now be sufficient?

You'll be OK!!! no need to worry about if your current income and prior income are above poverty limit. I think your previous income will be used only as a thread of how much you're earning. Don't forget also to include your pay stubs within 6 months and letter from your employer stating your hourly pay, annual income and either it is full time or part time.

Hey Katie,

i have to agree with jhun... dont think it will be an issue as you are currently making enough to cover the poverty line - but I do certainly understand your concern.
