Anyone have the latest info on filipinas chances of getting job related visas to US, Canada etc We are putting my sis in law thru CNA training at this time. Current plans are for her to work in Hongkong as a CNA for 2 years and then try to get a job in Canada.

She's married with 2 kids and is hopeing to end up bringing hubby and kids to Canada or US.

What? Dreaming or a possiblity or is there another way?

Next best thing we have is to bring mamang over as soon as my wife gets her US citizenship, wait 5 years for her to get USC and have mamang petition for both my wifes sis and brother.

Problem is mamang is quite old.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

not only that but after mom gets USC status, it will be an additional 11-12 year wait on top (based on the current visa bulletin) for any unmarried sons/daughters from the PI to get an available visa number... For a married son/daughter it is currently about 17 years

YMMV

Canadian personal immigration is relatively easy IF:

1. you have enough points (based on education, how many of the official languages you speak/read/write, if you have a job offer, etc)

2. you need to have 10K PER PERSON in a bank account. (THAT WOULD BE 40k FOR HER HER HUSBAND AND 2 KIDS)

The USA will not give a Visa for a CNA, Not gonna to happen.

Right now US is under Retrogression for Registered Nurses and will not issue visa for a RN for about 4 more years, and they could extend Retrogression.

as i was reading threads from that forum, there's no way that a foreign worker, especially nurses, can work in the US if she/he has no closed relative to petition her/him. there is retrogression and and according to the moderators, there is about 5-7 years wait for a visa if you just started filing for a petition. there are different types of visa for health workers, it can Eb3, H1b, H1C. eb3 is an immigrant visa. im not very familiar with its conditions but just take a good browse at uscis. and as far as i know studying caregiving/NA here in the phils wont give you a visa to work in the US, you have to have a bachelor degree, passed the state exam, several english tests and a visa screen to be petitioned by the employer.

This may be wrong or correct. It depends.. I had a friend from Texas he was a nurse in the Philippines, he does not have any relative in the US but did get a job offer in one of the big hospital in Dallas..through a recruitment agency in the Philippines.. After a year they filed a Petition to be an Immigrant. later they became immigrant as well as his wife and kids.

I am not sure about the nursing assistant. it may be difficult for her to get a working visa, unless her relative found an employer that can issue a work visa for her. One of the filipino couple I met in Texas also found an employer for his brother. They issued a work visa for him as skilled worker. They brought him in the US.

That may be true for nurses, because many doctors from the Philippines came to work in the United States as nurses, and violated their contracts by seeking employment either as a doctor or performing medical services on the side without medical license.

For other workers, the story is different. I have one brother who is working in the United States as a physical therapist and the other brother working for a hotel chain as a inventory specialist. Both are working on temporary working visas.

The fact that I am currently married to a US citizen has no relevance to either brother's prescence in the U.S.: One was here before I got my K-1 Visa, and the other came later. I filed no petition for either.
