Interview date but no Packet 4

Hello all.

I had not received Packet 4 by about 18th November, and had been waiting over three weeks, so phoned the Embassy to enquire. I was told that I should email the Embassy about it, and that my interview had been scheduled for 28th November .

I emailed the Embassy, explaining things, and have just received the automated reply so far (I used the code, so it was received).

I have made travel and hotel arrangements for my interview. I know the time and date of my interview.

I am worried that there may be some instructions in Packet 4 that I need to see. I have all the documentation I need (I think!): Birth Certificate, Passport, Statement of Support, Police Reports, evidence of relationship. I have also attended for a Medical exam and produced my vaccination records.

I have three questions:

1 Will they let me have an interview without my appointment letter from Packet 4?

2 Is there anything else I need to take to the interview apart from the documents listed above?

3 I do not have a copy of the medical exam. I presumed it was sent direct to the Embassy. Should the doctor have sent it to me?

Oh, lord, I am so anxious! I know you all understand that feeling!

Any help with my questions would be so greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Emma

i'm confused by your timeline and dates! you sent packet three back on 16th nov and your interview is on 21st? but in the original post, posted on 16th november, you said;

"I had not received Packet 4 by about 18th November, and had been waiting over three weeks, so phoned the Embassy to enquire. I was told that I should email the Embassy about it, and that my interview had been scheduled for 28th November"

i think if they haven't emailed you back by tomorrow you should call them back.

Sorry about that. I made a mistake on my Timeline. It now reads "Packet 3 sent back 16th OCTOBER 2008".

I will ring them again, but can't see that they will take any more notice of me than they did before. They just told me to email, which I did. I dare not email again, as you know what they're like if you email them more than once about the same topic.

Well, I don't know if this is helpful, but for us all "Packet 4" was, was a letter addressed to my fiance with info on how to schedule the interview. It was Packet 3 that was the one with all the forms. But I know each embassy is different. A few days after I emailed the embassy inquiring about Packet 4, they sent it to me via email. We also received Packet 3 via email, so we never had to wait for anything through the mail. BUt if we had shown up to the interview without Packet 4 (the letter) I think it woul dhave been no problem.

I would suggest reading the review of the embassy in the UK and trying to contact VJ members directly from that embassy to find out what is in Packet 4, because it may not be necessary if you already have the interview scheduled.

have they still not replied to your email?

perhaps if you call the embassy you could ask them if you need the letter to attend the appointment and at least get that part clarified. i don't see why they wouldn't answer that over the phone.

you've been waiting for such a long time for this to happen, i hope it all works out for you!
