Guys, you won't believe it as I did not when I opened the envelope from USCIS. So, I called them on Jan 14th to complain that it's been 2 moths and I did not receive my biometrics appt letter. Today, my wife comes back from Walmart, she has a package in one hand and a letter in the other. I go for the package - a book for school:( I go for the letter...something from USCIS!!! I am thinking, here comes my biometrics appt but I opened it and... it's a Request for Applicant to Appear for Naturalization Initial Interview!!! on March 3rd. Irving, TX whooohooo. Now, is it going to be a problem that I haven't had my biometrics taken for N-400? I had them last year in January for my 10 year GC, are those going to suffice? I am so happy, going to get a champagne:)

sorry, forgot to update!

Biometrics done 12/04/08 - took an hour, even though there were only 3 other people in there.... I don't know if they were waiting for the machine to 'warm up', or if they just made my appointment in the middle of their tea break, as the staff stood around chatting to each other for a good 30 mins before calling any numbers...

Anyway, that part's done, now just waiting for my appointment notice!

NATURALISATION UPDATE:

Nov 5 2008 - sent in N400 to CSC

Nov 13 2008 - check cashed

Nov 19 2008 - received NOA dated Nov 13, says application transferred to Nat'l Benefits Center

Dec 4 2008 - Biometrics done

Feb 9 2009 - Received letter saying interview on Mar 18 2009.

Mar 18 2009 - Interview - in and out in 8 minutes!

Mar 23 2009 - Received oath letter for ceremony April 10. Doh!! I'll be travelling. Sent letter requesting later ceremony date.

May 29 2009 - OATH CEREMONY, Reno. I am now a US citizen!

I-751 UPDATE:

May 2007 - Moved to Reno NV, and so we file at CSC instead of NSC - yay!!!

July 23, 2007 - I-751 mailed

July 25, 2007, 10.47am - envelope delivered to CSC

August 2, 2007 - Check cashed

August 6, 2007 - NOA 1 received

Sept 10, 2007 - Biometrics Appointment

Sept 21, 2007 - Received 10yGC approval letter dated 9/18 - wow, speedy, and no interview!

Sept 29, 2007 - 10yr GC arrives

I got the interview letter yesterday ( interview date March 25th). This is absolutely shocking as the USCIS site has Hartford CT processing N-400 filed in Oct, 2007 (was stuck on June 2007) for many months. I was expecting a letter somewhere around Feb/Mar '09 judging by some of the other Hartford filers' timelines on this website. Goes to show that the processing timeline on the USCIS website is perhaps a worst case outcome.

Excitement quickly faded as I realize that I'll be out of the US on March 25th at my brother's wedding. Hoping that Hartford is quick to reschedule interviews. Lomes, appreciate you updating interview date for 3/25. Will update further once I hear back from Hartford on the rescheduled date.

Dear November filers,

I was wondering whether we could add another column to this table, "Interview letter received date". The October filers have it and I think it helps them to figure out when they should be expecting the letter. Our table jumps from biometrics appointment to Interview date. In most of the cases is 2 months apart and you better than anyone else know how long 2 months wait is.
