Not sure where to post this so I figured I would try here......

After how long do you usually get your SSN number..............how are you able to fill out applications for jobs without it? Help!

Usually within a month, once you've entered the US. :thumbs:

assuming you filled out the DS-230 properly in order to have the information transfer automatically to the SSA to request a card

If you checked off on the Form DS-230 when applying for an immigrant visa to be assigned an SSN, give it 3 weeks after entering the United States, then go into an SSA office to see what's going on. IF you go into the SSA office take your passport and birth certificate and I-551 card if you have received it.
