Sweet! I had a fantastic pair of rainbow-striped leg warmers that I got for Christmas in 1983. Pinstripe jeans (not Jordache, unfortunately), a lavender v-neck alligator sweater, and docksiders completed the ensemble. Hawt!

After a couple of washes, the sweater was a candidate for the clothes shaver.

Totally had that outfit...except I wore the backwards Forenza v-neck sweater and a racer back tank top with my pinstripe Guess jeans. You know, the ones with the zipper at the ankle? I saved the alligator sweater for the khakis and docksiders. For my preppy days.

I love that I'm the "eccentric" teacher because I can dress however I want and no one says a word. I haven't been trendy...since 7th grade I think.

I got sick of always being a dancing tree or bush or something in the Nutcracker every year so I quit and focused on tennis

i don't remember much about presentations when i was in ballet, but i'd have at least one / month and I was always in the middle of the front row. street dance we'd compete, and again, always first row. we had presentations like 4 times a month when not more. I ahd to quit whne in college, i couldn't travel or practice that much anymore.

but dancing was my thing, it's one of the things i'm extremely good.

what is an alligator sweater?

I wasn't even born yet in 1983 so I need help understanding these things :P

Alligator--colloquial term for Izod/Lacoste stuff. My sweater looked something like this but in lavender:

18127a.jpg

I noticed that the alligator stuff started coming back a few years ago.

I was young and impressionable then! I developed my highly individual groovy style a bit later, when I was about 13 and wanted to separate myself from the snooty b!tches whose parents shopped at Jordan Maaaahsh (and if they were really snooty, Lawd & Taylah).

Anyone remember Sweats by Ebe and Sweats by Chego?

May 5, 2006: Interview at Phoenix district office. Approval pending FBI background check clearance. AOS finally approved almost two years later: February 14, 2008.

Received 10-year green card February 28, 2008
