No hon as I have not been there since we got engaged, we got engaged while I was there on my last trip and last time we met was in Cancun

I am just taking as much evidence I as I can of my ties back here, hope for the best as they have no record there that I have applied for a K1

Hey Shaz~~~

Since it's subjective about how the officer perceives you when approach him, don't wear your stinky monkey costume and instead dress like a posh and proper school teacher. Flash him a big smile instead of diverting your eyes while you go pale with fear. Well that would work in the South, not sure about Yankee territory.

For my opinion to the OP: Long stays, young, no job to report ups your chances of being questioned. It doesn't mean you can't talk your way out of it. Good luck to all that want to spend the holidays with your loved ones.

Thanks for advice everyone. I feel a bit better after a nights sleep.

I guess I will advise my fiancee to go the "visiting family and friends" or "Visiting boyfriend and family" route at first.

I'm given hope by the fact that many of you have made it successfully w/o too much hassle, and even the people that got hassled usually still got in.

(Like everyone here, I'm sure) I just cant wait for this stage to be over and it to be "okay" for me to be with the one I love.

I'm kind of hoping that the holiday season itself will act as a good explanation/reason for the trip and the lengthy stay. Surely there are many, many people coming into the country at this time for the exact same reason.

Kim and Russ, how many times did he make it successfully into the country for 90 days before he was denied entry?

While no one seems to know for certain, I've been warned that once you have your NOA2 and your petition has gone through NVC (and thus DOS), they will have a record of it for sure at the POE. Spurs and I are flying back to the States tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have a positive update for you then! Our plan right now is to go through the border together--I'll wait in his line with him. We're both flying back to England for Thanksgiving, so hopefully that will be good enough...

It just occured to me... my Fiancee acts as a live in nanny for the children of her brother and his gf. She gets reduced rent and food for this. Do you think this would be okay for her to state as her "occupation" when asked at the PoE?

It might be a smart idea to get her brother to write a letter stating it as her occupation/rental agreement and that she is expected back on such and such a date. Technically she is recieving some sort of payment for the task, it is just not officially recognised by the government, however most carers over here aren't so they probably wouldnt really know. In the end it is another piece of information you could use as evidence though, and thats the bit that counts.

I really think you will be fine. The reason I have fears is due to the longer stay time and the job ties to home country.

My girl visited me for 3 months, was gone for 3 months, and is now returning for another 2.5 month stay. Since you are only staying for 10 days, I think it will be easy for you. I'm hoping that the fact that my fiancee was out of country for 3 months, and that its the holiday season she is returning for, will make it easier for her as well.

I was also worried about her not having any occupational ties to her home country, but I think we have resolved this, as she acts as live-in nanny for her brothers children. Her brother's gf will write her an employer/landlord letter to carry to the PoE.

She arrives late Wednesday, so I will let you all know how it goes.
