This guy N E E D S to get laid, I had a teacher in high school who never got married and was in his mid 50's and acted the same way he does. SOUR and BITTER

Please don't joke again because you will embarrass yourself. Especially on this issue.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

It is very hard to discuss or debate a topic when people cannot separate the person from the topic or post. Even if I was debating with Platy I would try to focus on what he is saying rather than the fact that I think he is a wanker. Well bad example because he doesn't bother discussing anything worth while and simply throws out bull #######.

So Platy is not here, but you felt the need to bash him anyway...?

Well as your bum-chum VW would say - these forums aren't the place for debate.

While that is often true in the case of a half-dozen or so people (including yourself and her, and certainly that beligerent old drunk - Rogue). You guys aren't really representative of "people with right-wing views", regardless of how much you lay claim to it.

Of course we are not representative. The OT section of VJ represents a certain demographic of posters, as does VJ. Is Obama, for example, anything like Platy or AJ . Hell no.

If you brought up something about Australia I would try to discuss it rather than take the stance of how dare you attack Australia. Logical discussions can only work when people separate their emotions and view of the person from the argument. Debating 101.

I have started watching more and more of PBS because I have to say I enjoy seeing people, even those with differing views discuss issues in a logical and calm manner. Rather than a HOW DARE YOU SIR!!! approach. Which happens in Ot with various topics such as illegal immigration and Mexicans..

You don't use logic Boo. That's the biggest problem people have with you - you distort and take things so far out of context that it changes the entire subject of the thread (hence Wild TangentTM). It doesn't matter how clear people are, how black and white the language used - you still manage to badly misinterpret what people say and come up with something ridiculous and completely off the wall.

Its how we have all these big arguments about minority issues because you always make outlandish assumptions and accusations that have nothing to do with what anyone has said.

Yes. He is the exception.

let us make a really obvious final point here to this clueless australian. how many australians are there? well, at the moment about 20,000,000 but as my point uses the 2001 census we will go with about 19,000,000. how many australians lived in the uk in 2001?

"106,404 people born in Australia were in the UK in 2001, some 0.19% of the population.

9 of the top 10 Australian clusters are in west London boroughs.

5 regions of Britain have fewer than 5,000 Australia-born people living there.

784 more people born in Australia are living in Hammersmith than did so a decade earlier - the biggest single increase in a local cluster."

quite a large proportion of them.

how many brits are there? in 2001, 59,000,000, but right now it's about 60,975,000. how many lived in australia back then? (i doubt it was 1,000,000)

You are wrong. Some of you guys have a big problem with separating your personal feelings on a topic with actually discussing the facts or reality. If you are going to debate an issue with someone discuss the issue rather than your view of the poster. That is what debating is all about.

This is why I like Obama. He discuss his point rather than insulting the other person.

I think its even simpler than that. Some people are proud of their home or adopted countries, some people aren't.

People emmigrate and move around for all kinds of reasons. I don't infer negative things about someone's country just because there are people of that nationality living abroad. Quite simply - its not a fair argument to make, because its invariably based on assumption and hear-say.

How many people from VJ moved to the US because they really hated their home country? Not too many - I'm willing to bet.

I just don't want to discuss topics with people who poke sticks at others while hiding behind bushes themselves. People like yourself who don't actually have any intention of discussing a topic but rather prefer aggravating the other person.

Evil racists, permapmsing PUMAs, neocon armchair warriors and i-dont-care-about-anyone-but-myself selfish fvcktards.

So you lost then..

I thought you were suspended. They must have reactivated your account once they realized stupidity was not against the TOS.

there's no need for that...

I just hope this country does not become a UK.

i hope it doesn't become australia?

hmmmmm....australia is all of the people who weren't good enough to be in the uk...hmmmm...

I will let people enjoy the moment and save the discussion for another day..

so you didn't "poke a stick" at me and my nationality because i told you that your comment was unreasonable? oh, my bad.

don't have anything to say about this abuse you displayed?

Yes Boo - that is what debating is all about. Unfortunately this is not what you seem to be about - and tends to color how people react to you.

You just don't seem to be in possession of the intellectual process by which you process and internalise ideas that you are exposed to (basic comprehension in other words). You can't argue a point if you don't know where other people are coming from - or indeed what their arguments actually are. If you could - you wouldn't need to create so many useless distractions to keep it going.

Maybe if you REALLY wanted to discuss an issue, which is kind of questionable seeing how this thread has gone, you should have started a *DEMS ONLY* thread. That for sure would have got all the Republicans in for a good chat... :hehe:

It is a bit rich to claim to be up for a reasonable discussion after having created a thread that encourages commiseratory gloating.
