It is a little hard to discuss topics with people you know nothing about. Why is this relevant, it defines the scope of the conversation.

I think its even simpler than that. Some people are proud of their home or adopted countries, some people aren't.

People emmigrate and move around for all kinds of reasons. I don't infer negative things about someone's country just because there are people of that nationality living abroad. Quite simply - its not a fair argument to make, because its invariably based on assumption and hear-say.

How many people from VJ moved to the US because they really hated their home country? Not too many - I'm willing to bet.

it doesn't seem like BY is respectful of his adopted country at all. if australia is so wonderful why didn't his partner move with him to australia? it obviously isn't so wonderful.

it's nice to know BY had the time to ask 1,000,000 brits if they wanted his money to leave the country, he must have a lot of spare time and money on his hands.

BY biggest problem is he lumps people into 'us' and 'them' categories. If you are down as a 'them' then everything that is posted is merged into one single opinion - you are not seperated by poster but by what BY considers your 'theme'. So, you can post one thing, and BY sees not just that one thing, but everything else also posted by 'thems'. The net result is chaos.

indeed. i don't think he remembers half of the stuff he says to people, most probably because he doesn't remember who is who. for example that stuff i quoted from yesterday shows him being offensive and yet here he is again today saying it's bad for people to behave like he does? no s### sherlock, we know this already, it's you that doesn't get it.

I remember but one could spend a day here just defending themselves. As is the case with VW, alien, etc..

Constantly having to justify your views to various people here gets a little tiring after a while.

I just don't want to discuss topics with people who poke sticks at others while hiding behind bushes themselves. People like yourself who don't actually have any intention of discussing a topic but rather prefer aggravating the other person.

Eh, the US was formed as an independent country by REJECTING the UK as a ruler--and its government systems (which is why Electoral College instead of simple-majority-representatives); if it wanted to revert to a UK, it could have simply joined up with Canada anytime after 1867--the only problem was that the Canadians never figured out how to deal with 4-10 provinces, let alone 42-50 more.

he only said that because i told him not to be offensive to AJ and i am british, not because there was actually any intelligent thought behind it. britain and america are indeed two very different countries and that will always be the case.
