There is some good news out of all this... and that is the renewed interest in the issues affecting our nation, and all the new (and old) voters energized to get out and get involved, not just voting, but helping the various campaigns. They are predicting a record turn out tomorrow, and that is good news.

By Wed, we can be one step closer to a nation less divided by race, and one step closer to being a nation where all its citizens are created equal.

The other way to look at a greater potental voter turnout is that will have more fools than ever voting when then either chose not to participate before or are young and voting for the first time without knowing much of anything.

So if McCain wins it means we will be less divided by race as well?

:blink::unsure:

Translation: They're not voting my way so they don't know much of anything.

Actual statement: .. so this is why I understand them so well.

SRVT -

I realize The West Wing was a dramatic recreation of life in the White House. But it was highly praised for its accuracy of what goes on in the working White House by many individuals, including Dee Dee Myers, former press secretary to Clinton.

Besides that - it was a sentiment I was trying to convey. Many of us here care deeply about our country - on both sides of the spectrum, Republican or Democrat. Some are just better than others to make the point without name calling.

Yeah, for Jundp. You are spot on name calling is juvenile. I think I have done it though, so I am at least partially juvenile myself.

Of course Wednesday will not change much - but at least the election threads will be over and we can move on to the 'gloating' threads. I expect there to be much gloating and over the next year so 'I told you so's' and so forth.

Maybe I should just fast forward a couple of years to the start of the next election cycle?

Seriously though, I really, really hope someone takes a look at how much is spent on these elections and starts saying 'enough is enough' 2.4 Billion dollars?

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I should have figured you couldn't understand how a broader electorate has a downside. Got any figures showing "new" voters are better educated or more savvy politically? Highly unlikely or they would have participated before.

Another SRVT wanna-be. The reason you couldn't make sense of my post is that it was far too long for your limited attention span. Stick to the hope and change mantra before you're truly lost.

Heard some predictions with all the complaints on voting fraud, this election may end up in the courts for several months. Won't be the first time.

No kidding HAL. Sister jundp wanted this insanity to stop and has been hijacked.

One thing was to have an open discussion with people displaying more openness. Another is to have baiting as usual. HAL 9000 detects more activity. Just a moment...

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Thread hijack detected.

Pretty easy to do when the logic of greater voter always being a good thing goes unchallenged beyond 30 posts. Voter turnout was pretty high in 2004 and Bush won. That must be the will of the people at work again.
