Easy Schengen Visa

So this morning I wake up (on the couch, of course) and after watching the Saved by the Bell marathon I flip over to the Military Channel to watch something a little more interesting. Wifey wakes up and happens to walk in whilst I'm watching a show on the French Foreign Legion. She asks me the benefits of joining the Legion and I explain them to her capping it off with French citizenship after serving. She replies, "Ah, you must do this so we have easy Schengen Visa."

I guess I should've made this topic a poll, but do you guys think that's a good idea or not? (Or should I tell her I don't really need a Schengen Visa since I'm a Yank?)

Schengen visas are easy to get to begin with, at least in comparison to US visas.

it might not be too bad a deal, as long as you didn't have to become a frenchman.

Basically she needs to join because she is the one with the visa problem.

I would like to see her undertake some of the military discipline but just my luck I'd end up living with Lyudmilla Pavlichenko.... and I'd hate to have her pissed off at me! It's one thing to sleep on the couch, quite another to have to stay 1,000 meters away at all times!

I don't think the French Foreign Legion has started recruiting women.... in any regular military capacity.

You could always move to France and become naturalized after 5 years, if they are still doing that.
