Hi Friends,

I recently just got back from Pakistan this past weekend. I married my fiance there. I am a US Citizen and now I am about to file my I-130 for her however, I want my wife with me here in the USA as soon as possible as everyone does here on this forum. I am confused that should I file only the I-130 for her or the K-3 visa as well which is a faster process according to my research. I would like to know if I file my I-130 PETITION for my wife this coming November 2008 how long will it take based on everyones experience here before she can get her interview date in Pakistan. If someone can tell me the processing times for Pakistan for both K-3 and I-130 PETITIONS, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much.

In my opinion u should file for k-3 ,it will be faster then i-130,i-130 can take upto 1 yr , most likely i-129 is 6-9 months

You must file I-130 anyway first, but if you wish to file a K-3 - it is up to you. As I found from the timelines, both petitions got approved at the same time, and I-130 petition is a cheaper way, than K-3. Your wife will get CR-1 green card for 2 years and all the authorization for work, SS#, etc. If she came on K-3 visa she needs to adjust the status and wait for Authorization for employment, which costs a big money (1010$ for AOS). I would go with both visas step by step, but prefer the I-130. Good luck with your jorney.

hello,

this might help,

First we file I-130, then prepared to our documents for I-129F for K3 route. after we receive our NOA1, we send our I-129, but then our I-130 gets approved in less than a month after we sent our I-130. So the USCIS return our 1-129F stating that we can no longer file for it coz the petition (I-130) is already approved and they forwarded it at NVC.

hope this help u decide!

by the way, dont worry about filing CRI, is not really difficult, I just sent it my DS23O yesterday, and since we start filing CRI never receive RFE, thank God!..there are also Guides here to make ur processing at NVC quicker!
