How detailed is Petitioner background check?

First off - not hiding anything ;-) .....just pondering something.

In Tennessee, I have my firearm carry permit. This should prove that I've already passed state and federal background checks.

I was just curious if this would have any bearing on our I-129F petition either pro-or-con.

I'm thinking no, but figured I'd pose the question anyway.

would not make you ineligible to petition... A registered sex offender and certain related crimes that fall under the Adam Walsh act might.

Considering that you cannot get a firearm permit with a felony (like registered sex offender) or history of mental illness, I think I am quite safe then ;-)
