I'm honestly confused about the SSN and EAD applications.

Questions!

1.Does the USCIS sends the SSN form?

2.Do i really need to get my EAD first before i can apply my SSN?

3.Do we need to pay the whole $1010 for AOS even i already have my EAD?

Any reliable information would be appreciated. Thanks

LOVE IS PATIENT, LOVE IS KIND. IT DOES NOT ENVY, IT DOES NOT NOT BOAST, IT IS NOT PROUD. IT IS NOT RUDE, IT IS NOT SELF-SEEKING, IT IS NOT EASILY ANGERED, IT KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONGS. LOVE DOES NOT DELIGHT IN EVIL BUT REJOICES WITH THE TRUTH. IT ALWAYS PROTECTS, ALWAYS TRUST, ALWAYS HOPES, ALWAYS PERSEVERSE. LOVE NEVER FAILS.

Hi! I believe these are the answers to your questions:

1. No the USCIS doesn't send the SSN for but you can download it from the SSA website.

2. You can get your SSN even without your EAD as long as you apply for it few weeks before your I-94 expires.

3. I think YES...you still have to pay $1,010 even you already have EAD.

Good luck!

For a K3:

1) No

2) Yes

3) Yes... no discount if you received EAD prior

As you are a K3, these are the correct answers to your questions:

No. Bring your EAD card / ID into the local SS office and fill out an application for the SS card. It should arrive in 2-3 weeks.

Yes. See above. You must have an EAD as a K3 before you can get a SS#

Yes. The $1010 is the cost for Adjustment of Status only, whether you file for EAD/AP or not

i don't get it.

We just went through this process with a K3 visa. The advice you were given by Neko (apply so many days before the I94 expires) applies to a K1 not a K3 visa.
