Interview: 21 OCT 2008

I arrived at the embassy at 7:50 AM. My number was 13 ( IV section ) .. I sat in there, then people started to go one after the other to a window to give the photos, the passport and the medical report.. Then we were sent to wait in the American Citizen Services room and people starting to take the interview one after the other, about 20 min per person.. some longer, some shorter...

I waited 4 Hours till I got my interview. My number was 13 like I said, so you either go in very early, or just go in last.. they don't let you in after 12 noon so you gotta be there early if you wanna get out early.

My interview was the fastest, some people took like 40 min of questioning. Here's how it went:

Got in, sat on the chair, the guy said "saba7 elkhair" ( means good morning ) in arabic i said saba7 elnoor.. then he asked me to raise my right hand and swear that the documents are correct ( he asked me that in arabic ), i said it, then I said, I can do this in english, and he was happy about it.. then he gave me the part 2 of the visa application to sign, and I did, he took my finger prints.. then I sat.. he was shuffling papers around and typing to the computer. He asked me how do I know my wife and I started telling him.. I don't think he even listened because he was busy giving me the originals and printing on the screen, then he took a paper, stamped it and gave it to me and said congratulations, your visa has been approved.

I was out of the interview room in like 5 min. People outside were surprised that i came out that fast.

He gave me a number that i took to the aramex office on my way out to pay for passport delivery. Paid 5 JOD.

Visa 23rd OCT 2008:

Two days later ( Today ), Aramex called me and asked me to go pick up the passport even though I asked them to deliver at my house, he started bullshitting me that my street address doesn't show on their system, and I'm like seriously in the same block as they are.. So i got up, dressed myself really quick and just left out and I got my passport with the CR1 visa.

I also booked my ticket on the 29th.

Also for iraqi people applying in amman, there were 4 iraqi people who got approved as well.

Good luck to the others and I hope this is helpful.

btw, the coffe is 1 JD and it sucked .. just in case you were sleepy like I was =)
