Hello again everyone,

I hope that all of you had a lovely Memorial Day holiday (for those of you in the US).

I am preparing to send in the first stage of this process - the I-129. I don't think that police reports are required for this stage but my fiance thinks that they are. Don't those come later on?

Please help. Thanks!

Police reports will be needed at the interview-I had my man get his as soon as we sent the paperwork in-because sometimes it takes a while. I believe the police reports are good for 6 months.

someone else will tell you for sure.

good luck

Police Certificate of Lack of Criminal Records

Police Certificate

Police Report

Different names that serve one purpose: The Consulate wants to see if you have "records" or "clean records" from your origin country. Some case, if the beneficiary has traveled and lived outside of his/her native country for over 6 months after the age of 16, he/she will need to obtain a PC from that foreign country also. Each consulate has its own list of PC requirement and exclusion list of countries where beneficiary will not be required to obtain the PC from them (i.e. North Korea)

Just make sure you check with your consulate or US embassy in Canberra.

So far, as we are still waiting on new rules, you don´t have to submitt any police records with your I-129F, that will be required much later at her interview.
