Wanted to remind everyone tomorrow is election day! It's going to be a tough call because I'm having problems supporting any of the candidates platforms, but I'm sure after much deliberating tonight I will come to a decision :)

Big Sigh!! I can't vote :( . I'll be watching the results, though. Here is an interesting site I discovered during the last elections. It isn't affiliated with any political party and offers predictions riding by riding that tend to be fairly accurate in the long run. They only do parliamentary style governments so don't do the US elections. They are predicting a Conservative minority - that is, nothing really changes. Globe and Mail and CBC both offer good ongoing election coverage for those of you who don't have access to Canadian TV.

I am not voting since I dont care for any of the leaders that we have. They do more whining than anything else constructive. Oh ya and also figure out how to make the most tax revenue.

I voted via mail in ballot. I don't know that not voting really matters to anyone? When they say people don't vote they always point to voter apathy - not the politicians running

Yes politicians like to put blame on everything else except themselves. I dont think there would be any voter apathy if you had good leadership. I always wondered what they would do if no one voted at all. :P The shock value would be priceless. :P

This election feels weird to me, almost like a waste. I mean, I have to vote for leaders in a country I'm leaving and I'm moving to a country where there's an election but for which I can't vote. Really weird.

I'll be voting, yeah, but I still don't know for who!

Yes and if we get a minority government again we will be back at the polls again soon ... what a system. :bonk:

I dunno.. the whole minority gov. actually is redemptive I think.. say if a PM gets in that does a horrible job, well then the people can petition their MP to bring down the gov. It's another check. Contrast that to.. in the US 4 yrs of the same guy no matter what kinda job he does (impeaching aside).. so.. I think it's not a waste but a necessary evil. I think gov. has to be a little more centered with minority in place, they can't just willy nilly do whatever they want. I think it brings about a better gov. regardless of how "poorly" people thing the last gov did, they DID manage to hang on for over 2 years with a minority.. THAT is a feat IMO.
