Questions for I-129F petition

"I just have a couple of questions before I fully put the petition in order, I just don't want to mess it up so I'm being slightly over cautious.

1) I've seen a lot of different ways that the cover letter was put together. The main example I've seen was from visajourney and it had the petitioner's address at the top and really no mention of the petitioner's name until you signed at the end. Should I clearly state at the top of the cover letter who the petitioner and beneficiary are or fully just go from what the example from visajourney is? I'd love to see people's copies just to make sure I'm doing it right!!

2) I've read in many places that using ACCO fasteners are a good idea, punching 2 holes at the top of the pages. I also saw that using separators with tabs on them is a great idea....it will be easier for the person looking over your petition to find what they are looking for. But I read that they like to have the tabs at the BOTTOM of the page, not at the side (like you normally would find at a regular store). (I have regular colored sticky-tabs that I can attach). Is there a better way to go about separating each section of the petition?? Color coordinating the sections?? Writing the name of the section on a tab?

3) I've also read that getting certified copies of important documents is a great idea to send to the USCIS because then they can't question if something isn't true of nature. I went to a currency exchange and paid $20 for a certified copy of my birth certificate and will be sending that in. My biggest question about certified copies is that my fiance's passport needs to be copied. We made regular copies when he was in (black and white) but I want to 'certify' them. Currency exchanges don't do this. I've called multiple counties around mine and they don't know what I am talking about and a notary in Illinois can not certify this kind of document. Should I just not even bother with finding how to get a 'certified copy' and just send in the black and white copies? My ultimate goal in all of this is to not get a request for more information from us, although it might happen.

4) When it comes to making copies of supporting evidence.... should copies of passports be in color or is black and white fine? When I put the whole packet together, I read that I should make 2/3 copies of the packet....should this be in color or black/white?

5) I live in Illinois...where would I file the petition to? I've read the California office for Illinois, but I just wanted to double check.

I'm a very detailed person so I'm questioning everything I am doing on this petition so sorry for these simple questions, but thank you in advance for all your help!!"

VJ and USCIS assembly instructions are what I used.

1) 2) Keep it simple, USCIS will simply re-order it the way that they need it in the file.

I simply bound everything together with a single ACCO fastener coverletter on top, then I-129F, G-325A, passport pics, 2nd G-325A, then all required evidence after that.

3) Read USCIS directions above, simple photo copies are all they need or want, NO need for certified copies.

5) B/W fine.

1) VJ has an example.... look under "Example Forms"

2) Acco Fasteners are fine.. so are bulldog clips or whatever you choose

3) Unless specifically required, photocopies are accepted (even says this in the instructions)

4) Regular photocopies are OK

5) According to the instructions... CSC

YMMV
