USCIS states that the processing time = 6 months. Does this mean it will be 6 months before they look at my paperwork or 6 months before the I-129F visa is issued? Also, the VJ timeline states that my case will be adjudicated in January 09. Does this mean the visa will be approved by then or that the USCIS will begin looking at my paperwork in January???

please help!!!

My understanding is that Jan. 09 is when you can expect to have your NOA2. From that point it still needs to go to the embassy in the other country, interview, etc...so maybe another couple of months +/- after NOA2 is when you can expect to receive final approval for the visa. That is just my interpretation from all the reading I've done on VJ. Anyone, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! :star:

It's absurd. The whole point of a K1 is an expedited process. I'm moving back to China and we can deal with this nonsense together. I just wish I had figured out that the K1 was going to take a year before I spent so much time getting situated in the States.

 The whole point of the K1 visa is to allow your fiance to come to the US to get married and stay to start the AOS process. Expedition is not part of it.
