I just got this email yesterday. Is it good or bad news?

On May 23, 2006, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to an office in CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER for processing. Our office in CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 to receive information about local office processing times.

5-20 business days for the Green Card to arrive, maybe I'll be back to see my family before Christmas?

It's good news... it means you're going to get your greencard a LOT sooner than most people because you've been transferred to the 'quick processing' queue in California. Congrats! You can expect your approval some time within the next four months...
