SOMERVILLE —Supporters of John McCain and Sarah Palin's presidential campaign are holding a debate-watching party Thursday night in Somerville.

The event starts at 8 p.m. at Alfonso's Trattoria, 99 West Main Street.

That will only be interesting if the debate concludes with an old-fashioned western saloon fight, complete with flying bottles and chairs.

If Biden attacks first or starts pointing out the obvious, he risks coming across as a bully. Maybe once she throws the first punch, he should start swinging, but he still has to walk a fine line.

I liked the quote in USA today which essentially ran along the lines of, she'll answer a question spinning a picture of a glorious Alaskan sunset and everyone will be sayting that's the best thing they've ever heard a politician say. Alaskan sunset and moose politics, there's a fine mess the American electorate are going to get us into.

I am interested in what will happen at the debate.

Actually I don't think Palin will do well. I don't think Biden will either. This political stuff is getting less appealing every day. Though I am voting for McCain I was very turned off by the way he ignored that Obama was standing right near him during their debate. He came across rudely. That was disappointing to me. I am annoyed by every person available to vote for.

I don't see why Palin will get a break and be commended, she is going to say the same points she says at every campaign stop. She better make sense or have something good to say or else she'll bomb the thing in my opinion.
