AOS FILERS: OCTOBER 2008

hello everyone!

i am so surprized i have not found this thread earlier.

there is actually another October AOS thread where a lot of March K1 Vermont filers were posting. We kind of stuck together and filed for AOS around the same date.

We filed October 16 and i have my biometrics next Wednesday.

One thing is a little weird. Neither of my receipt numbers can be pulled out on the USCIS website. Like they did not upload our case or something.

Do you think i should call and have them fix it?

Anyone else in the same situation?

I also try to check my receipt numbers online. But it said the numbers begins with three letters such as (EAC, WAC, LIN, or SRC). And my number begin with MSC.

Anybody elso experience it?

Hi eileenho, I also tried to check my receipt numbers online and it wouldnt work. My numbers also begin with MSC.

It would show up eventually..dont worry about it..even if it doesn't show up that does not mean they are not working on it..All marriage-based cases go to the National Benefits Center hence receipts with MSC. I got receipts starting with MSC and alot of other people.

MSC- Missouri Service Center same as National Benefits Center.

For those who are doing or have done the biometric 'walk-in' attempt, I am wondering if that is only after they recieve their NOA or their Biometrics scheduled appointment. I am wondering if there is any point in trying a walk-in prior to recieving the letter. Prob not huh? Just racing the clock for the army SF deadline which I am trying to meet, so any extra time is a massive plus for me.

And what is up with still no NOA ;(. That damn thing better show up soon, I'm loosing my mind trying to confirm that my package even made it to the right address seeing as I am the only person I have seen that had a different lady sign for my package...Chiba. Man this waiting game gets ya, huh? ;) (And this is just the start)

Hey Tony, I dont know about the biometrics walk in attempt, I have heard though, if they are not busy and you use a reasonable excuse,

they will allow you to do your biometrics. If it isnt far away from you, where you have to go then, it doesnt hurt to try, but if you are

far, I wouldnt because you may be disappointed. I do hope you do meet the deadline for the army signup. I know waiting for the NOAs

is a pain in the ### to wait for and your timeline is quite the same as mine. I got my NOAs yesterday in the mail, so I am just waiting on

my biometrics appointment in the mail. I hope you get your NOAs and it may come today. Good luck.

Just got my NOAs!! Woo! Biometrics next!

Congrads Fuzzymiss on getting your NOAs, I also got mine yesterday also.

Hi guys, sorry the spreadsheet hasn't been updated in a timely manner but it was crazy busy at work for me and Kimcorene is busy with the move.

I just updated it as much as I could see the information being posted on this thread, let me know if I missed anything!!

I just came back from my biometrics appointment and I'm just a little worried because some of my fingerprints were reading "match warning" on the screen.. I'm just afraid they get refused by the FBI because they're bad prints or something :(

Thanks/ So if I do have my letter and ID, do you think they would go for a walk in. I can wait till I get my letter for sure, just wondering if you think it is worth a shot?

I see you are filing in Boston? The actual office is right near the Fleet Center at the North station T stop. Are you any where close? If you are, I would say to try a walk-in and see what happens. My appointment was at 8 am on a Thursday and there were a good number of people there infront of me. It's like a production line though and they shuffle people through very proficiently. I asked in the general forum a few weeks ago if anyone had done Bios in Boston and a couple of people responded and had luck with walk-ins, so they are definitely possible. You MUST have the letter though because like someone else said, it has your bar coded info on it which they scan. They also tell you that you must not bring cell phones, etc. but really it should say that you have to turn them off before you go in 'cos everyone had them! Good luck!

Cool thx Beantownbabe. I'll wait till I get the letter then try a walkin. I am actually in Nantucket so it is a hike, but worth it if it saves even a few days. I am on a major time crunch. I still didnt get my NOA today. So I am hoping Monday. I am assuming from this thread you all got your biometrics letter almost directly after. I was also trying to find what the second NOA means. Is that to let you know you've actually received approval, rather than just then receiving you package?

The NOA's show the receipt of forms I-485, I-130 and I-765 and they should also show your Alien number. You will get two then one in the name of the Petitioner - three in all. Mine were received about a week and a half after they got my package if that's anything to go by and Bios were scheduled soon after. I think that's pretty standard. Good luck in getting everything in time! I would go in the afternoon if you do a walk in - I'm sure it will be fine...

Thank you Rosie for updating the spreadsheet, and I bet you were busy with work, work sure is something else I tell you and can take up

a whole lot of your time. I know Kimcorne has also been busy with the move, so I totally understand and I know that no one is complaing

or upset about you both not having the time to keep up with the spreadsheet lately. I am sorry to hear about your biometrics appointment

I do hope nothing bad comes out of it and I do wish the best. I dont think it will be anything bad, maybe just ask you to come back and

redo the fingerprints.

Hey Beantownbabe, I know this is not my conversation, but I had no idea that the alien number was located on the NOAs, I adjusted from

a visitor visa, so the A on the I-485 NOA is my new alien # because I didnt have one when I filed.
