Most make this mistake because he served Bush so faithfully. He also served Clinton faithfully but most forget this. He was a champion at being able to serve who was in power so well.

He subscribes to quotas and is in favor of many of the socialized programs that are popular with the Dems. In fact of the two parties his ideas would go very well with the Dems. A couple of things he leaned toward Reps but forgot what they were. I am sober here after all.

I don't know who tricked you into believing Republicans can't be for social programs and increased taxes to pay for them. Last I checked there is no single point of view or Republican bible for how everyone in the party votes or thinks.

In fact, the two parties are becoming more alike than not, which is not an improvement, at least not for the Republicans.

Hallelulah!! I am not all alone out here in this world. Thank God. :innocent:

Who said I was a happy Republican? I am a realist conservative who has decided between the lesser of two evils. I will be taking a barf bag into the voting booth with me.

Actually, Powell said that he was a Republican after serving in Clinton's cabinet, around the time his name was floated as a potential VP pick for Gore.

Now I KNOW I am too tired to debate--I'm putting Powell into Cabinets to which he did not belong!

Good night, and good luck.

Fixed that for you.

Even the Democrats are moving to the right, especially on abortion, and they practically have to announce and pander their patriotism in being afraid of right wing idiots thinking (and trying to tell everyone else) if you don't wear an American pin lapel, would rather protect citizen's right of expression to burn the flag, or for gays to have a marriage with their gay partner, you're a liberal, or socialist, or terrorist, or un-American.

You should be happy.

Powell was a good soldier. After he got hung out to dry addressing the UN about the weapons of mass destruction, he resigned, he didn't bad mouth his Commander in Chief or his party. I think the world knows he was set up. He is an honorable man and served his country well.

I don't find "realists" to be baited into essentially one choice, which is, to say, no choice at all.

You may be able to kid yourself, but not me.

You flatter yourself by including yourself in my equations. Trust me, you're not there.

So remind me what is realistic about limiting your own options to one, and not even being the "best", but the "least worst", one of which you'd never vote for anyways, today. Sounds to me like someone else decided your vote.

For once I have to agree. There are actually other choices. It is because we go along with the major parties is the reason they can ** us so bad and get reelected.

Unless you are doing a write-in, the same could be said about you.

No need to do a write in usually but why not if one wants someone other than the two majors.

Ok. made it safely back. Anyone miss me? :P

I could choose to stay home, which is about the same as voting for a third party candidate, except that it uses less gas.

As I said, I'm a realist. I never said I'm an election reformer; at least not this year.

That is why they can do as they wish anytime they wish. I always vote and never use a barf bag.

Lets see, I have Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Socialist, Peace and Freedom, Green Party, Independent, and even write-in!

What were your choices again? One of two, and one you'd never vote for? "Lesser of two evils", which was in your post, is pretty self-explanatory. It means "I have no choice".

This is not realism. It's retarded.
