Just out of curiosity, isn't the extreme left wing communism? Who exactly advocates anything resembling a communist pov around here? I think we have one self confessed socialist and a bunch of independants and democrats. I am not sure how that constitutes being extremely left wing.

rofl: The irony of this post is "spot on". VW called me a liberal, you are suggesting I am a right winger... and I am a moderate independent (kinda reminds me of VW's original post that two extremes are good because they cancel each other out). As for VW don't believe her "you can be as offensive as the worst among us and are as stuck to your view as am I" nonsense. That sounds like something a third grader would say.... the "I know you are but what am I" comeback.

I also meant people with extreme left wing views in the OT section of VJ. They just tend to respond the way you did yesterday. Rather than discussing the topic or issue, they prefer to respond with an insult against another post and the poster's views. Therefore, it is safe to assume, here in OT, that someone who responds like that is a liberal. There are not too many conservative whose first post in a thread is "your an idiot, chop ####, dumb ######, stupid, inbred, backwards etc".

I've actually only called VW & Kaydee names and they are two seeds in the same pod (and believe me that is NOT a compliment). There are lots of people who have different views than me that post here & I haven't resorted to name calling with them. Like I said when I started this thread the name calling was wrong, but I think the content of these posters somewhat mitigates my "offense".

I love that. The whole thrust of US politics is generally to the right - and within that we have two major parties, one of which tries to move things a little to the left, and another that tries to move them a little further to the right.

I suspect that couldn't be made interesting if sensationalist labels weren't applied to it. The talk radio and talk show guys have a lot to answer for IMO - given that its those guys that propagate this rubbish.
