It's pretty obvious kaydee is feeling a bit of pressure to defend his candidate and the only way he can do it is to grasp at straws by suggesting this professor breaking the rules is like everyone in his opposition. Let's all feel sorry for kaydee. There, there. *pat's kaydee on the head*

uh huh, because mccain never brought up race every five minutes in an attempt to denigrate obama's reputation, right?

Uh, that was Obama stupid. How many times did we get Obama "He has a funny name and by the the way he's black" speech?

Please cite the number of times McCain called Obama a Muslim.

What do you expect Kaydee? That's the librul education system. It's about time we closed all these elitist schools and threw the elitist professor scum out on the streets where they belong...

Political indoctrination classes don't bother you as long as creationism doesn't doesn't come in a science class, ok. Could you explain why students should be forced to write about one-sided political views in an English class? There's no reason for it.

"A part-time English teacher at Metropolitan State College is under fire from conservatives after he allegedly told students to write essays critiquing Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. The adjunct instructor, Andrew Hallam, has not been available for comment since one of his students went to a Denver TV station with an allegation that he bullied and harrassed conservative students.

"According to the conservative news website WorldNetDaily.com., Hallam assigned students to write about Palin, noting "her body language, facial expressions, the way she dressed, what she said and who she pointed out or talked about in her speech. How do these elements form a 'fairy tale' image about Sarah Palin as a person and as a politician that the Republican Party may wish its members and the American public to believe?"

Pretty deep thinking professor. Isn't this a little sexist?

The professor came to his sense after enough people complained and I have no problems with politics in English classes just one-sided political messages.

"After consideration, he broadened it at the next class on Tuesday to allow students to write about Barack Obama, Joe Biden and John McCain, she said."

OK - so a college professor of an undefined college course (presumably... politics?) set an assignment that betrayed a political bias (an assignment that was subsequently revised).

Now... why is this newsworthy?

agreed. Take a look at this to see the other side of it:

Harry Targ was the best professor I ever had. Maybe he is a communist? Who cares! His intro to American Foreign Policy was the best course I took at Purdue. I still own the textbook (written by Stephen Ambrose)

Alien, you are a first class #######. I will not defend a position I don't hold, not for you, not for anyone. However, I will continue to lambast stereotypical 'hatred' posts as long as I see fit. Stick that up your jacksee and enjoy!

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I went to the gutter?

I was simply wondering why you added that argumentative subtitle to that article... I mean... I really don't have any responsibility whatsoever for that teacher or his assignment, nor do I think using it as a pretext to attack a branch of ideology is particularly sound reasoning.

Of course - its par for the course to claim that I'm no better than you, because you need that to justify what you're doing. I must have missed where I went out of my way to make rampant generalizations about Conservative types.

You're only responsible for what you say and do. As am I. I am not responsible for this college teacher, nor is there any burden of proof for me to defend him, or justify myself with ####### for tat articles.

As for lack of respect - again, I'm not the one stereotyping. But it does seem clear at this point that you are simply incapable of viewing the world any other way.

of course its not racist for people to spread rumours that obama is a muslim?

Islam is a religion, moron, not a race.

There are white Muslims you know.

Exactly the point. Why does Kaydee seem to assume that there is a burden of proof on any he sees as having "liberal" views to justify or defend the teacher in this article?

Its just silly.

As someone from Redneck Central I can assure you it isn't and people will quite proudly call themselves RN...heck I even remember a huge hit song by Gretchen Wilson not that long ago titled "Redneck Woman."

Not to my surprise I am writing this response to you again but that is not the point. Just because certain people are not cry babies and are actually proud of being called rednecks does not mean the word is not racist. The same way many black American call each other ***. Context is key here.

Rock was not using the term redneck in a complimentary way.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Gezzz... Enough with the anything is a stereotype that is against my views.

It's been a pretty funny Republican tactic to try and make Democrats responsible for things everyone else says, and need to defend them. Like Obama's pastor, Joe McLiberal from North Carolina, some nutcase professor from Colorado, etc.

zomg some lesbians from San Francisco smeared Sarah Palin. Typical libral! Why aren't Biden and Obama denouncing it?? Oh, because they clearly support both lesbian marriages and spreading lies about their opponents.

The roots of this logic can be traced back to something a four year old conjured up.
