we filed the form I130 in the first week of feb 2006. We recieved the recipt and date on it was Feb 13th 2006. When I check the latest update on my case on the online system the date is Feb 16th 2006, 3 days after they issued the Noa1. Since then no updates, no nothing.

is this a good thing or bad? I have seen people with later noa1 dates recieved their noa2 weeks ago. is it possible they just took a look at my case on the 3rd day and threw it down to the bottom of the other cases as they found it one of the least piority cases.

do you think they do this kind of organising and numbering files, which one first which later on?

I dont see any reason checking my case on the 3rd day and then silence for 4 months.

I wouldn't be too alarmed yet. Ours took aprox. 90 days to get through USCIS. I have heard of others sailing through and some that took longer.

Relax...

According to the dates.. Vermont are still processing Dec 05 for I-130.. so you wont have recived your NOA2 yet... I believe (and could be wrong)... that the most of the petitions that have been approved faster will be people that DCF....

The NOA 1 just means that your case has been entered into the system and that they will be working on your case...

Perhaps the person handling your case, went on a holiday, or sick leave or whatever. The person processing the other cases you are seeing happen to have been on the job and got those particular cases finished in lightning speed. Who knows why they do what they do, because they can? Best advice you have gotten, RELAX! You are still in the game, you haven't been forgotten and they will get to your case.
