Hi Salwa

If the instructions are asking for "last tax reurn" then that is what they are requiring. Consulates vary on what they require. It wouldnt hurt to take the earlier two years just in case. Remember that a conof uses the I-134 and other evidence you may have to decide if the applicant will or wont become a public charge.

The original notorized to my knowledge is all that is needed. Someone should be able to confirm that.

All the best to you.

Thank you very much Lorelle

well i feel confused somehow because Cairo embassy has very bad reputation of being very unorganzied

and for exmaple they never asked for translating my papers and when i called them they said " you odn't have to" but 3 days ago while i was notarizing my English Marriage papers the conular said to me that I must translate it !!!!! and they never asked for Affidiat of Support and when I aksed the consular he said Imust send the AOS form I-134 so if i never knew I would have a REF now form the embassy and this is not what i want!!!!I think I must call them or let my husband call them next sunday and see what they will say I am thinking to email them?

Thak youagain (L) Lorelle (L)

Salwa,

You say that you already have 3 years of tax returns so it's not important to you if the consulate requires 3 or only 1. Give them the 3, if they only want 1 they will hand 2 back to you.

Salwapasserby,

The anecdotal evidence is that they do not have to be notarized. I know that OF-167/DS-2000 says notarized tax returns, but people seem to find that it isn't necessary.

That being said, it would be best if someone who has submitted tax returns to the US consulate in Egypt would answer your question based on their experience, as experience at other consulates may not apply.
