Do they deny K1 petitions or just the one where you are doing the interview to apply for a visa?

Yes, a K1 petition can be denied. The most common reasons are that the parties failed to prove they've been together in the past two years or one or more fails to prove they are free to marry.

Most K1 denials occur at the embassy interviews. Guess they want to pick up another $131 at the + or - 5 minute embassy interviews.

Very few denials because peeps didn't prove they had met in the last 2 years with the initial petition in the US.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

All true but the OP was asking about petition denial, not visa denial. The "they" that collects the visa fee is not the "they" that adjudicates petitions.
