We got some passport pictures taken, Had a set of hearings, the lady said it was ok but looking at the uscis website, they mentioned no earings.

Did anybody had an RFE for new photograph?

Gone but not Forgotten!

To the best of my knowledge, passport pictures you can have earrings. Visa pictures, you cannot. It also depends on the country as well.

Beats the heck out of me, wife feels naked without her earrings, but believe it was in the M-476 manual or someplace where it said no smiles, no earrings. But it never said anything about how to wear your hair, and they even allow you to wear a hat or some head covering if your religion calls for it, but you have to sign some kind of document to that effect.

And never said anything about the photo has to show your ears, so she fixed her hair straight down, covering her ears, so you couldn't tell whether she was wearing earrings or not, unless you wore those kind that dangle down to your knees. Your eyes have to be wide open, don't blink when the photo is shot. Anyway, with her wearing her hair down covering her ears, her photo was accepted, and she wasn't wearing any earrings, but you couldn't tell whether she was or not from the photo.

Feel they also do not want to wearing all that hardware on your face like many people are wearing today, but not an expert on this. But my own personal opinion, they would look a lot nicer by wearing a bag over their heads.

The reason why things get complicated is that we can not simply follow the instruction from the USCIS..

If the USCIS mentioned no earing you should not wear earings..

If they really want to make precise ratiometric dimensions of a persons, head, face, and ears for their biometric software, should instruct the applicant to have their head shaved off first. LOL, maybe next year. Or at least fix your long hair in pony tail, the instructions are clear about not wearing earrings, but not clear as to whether your hair style should show your ears.

Did take a second look at her certificate, was mistaken, can see the bottom of her ears, only the top is covered by her hair, and you can clearly see that she is not wearing earrings. Remember now when posing her using the back of my hand to just gently move her hair back a little from her shoulders to make sure we were complying. Ha, she said she didn't like that, but just said, it's the law.
