Most states recognize a person simply taking their husband's name.

If you want the green-card to show married name then fill out G-325A and I-485 using married name, and put maiden name on "Other Name Used" Line (G-325A), and "Name on I-94" line (I-485).

If you want to change name on green-card after getting the care you would file I-90 and pay $340 FEE.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

You don't need to do an official name change. You wedding ceremony is enough for you to be able to use your husband's name, if you choose to do so. From the moment the person who married you said "I now pronounce you husband and wife", you are able to use his last name.

You should file AOS in the name you plan to use going forward.
