I get the point, and yes we wives find many negative things about our husbands...no Michelle Obama should not be saying that type of thing about a presidential candidate because people like this will come and bite at any chance they get.

Personally I like Obama even more because he has human flaws.

"Frustration" and "disappointment" have dogged Michelle Obama these past 20 years, despite her US$300,000 a year salary and corporate board memberships.

The message is some black folks made some serious cash under Bush but whitey still stinks unless you vote for my husband, the slob.

Money is only an issue because poverty is a tangible issue for blacks in this country. Without wanting to get Boo-Yah all excited again - the fact remains that if you are black you are statistically much more likely than whites to experience poverty.

Unfortunately while people like to talk about "elites" in contexts where someone is perceived to be talking down to another - it is still the case that the everyone in high level politics is part of an elite group with no shortage of money and success (You won't see Joe the binman up for election anytime soon - regardless of how nice a guy he is, or how good his ideas are). Just because those at the top of the chain are doing (more than) ok it doesn't mean that they should ignore those at the bottom - certainly not those in their own base of support who's interests they intend to represent.

People like to see hypocrisy in politicians they disagree with and ignore the obvious - that most of these things are simply about expediency.

Yep, welfare doesnt pay much! Plus the only way to get a raise on welfare is to have more kids.

Anyone having financial difficulties is a welfare whiner - An interesting, if delusional perspective...

Governments fault for an individuals financial well being?

No - but it depends on whether you're interested in the specifics of inner city poverty, or if you think it is simply OK to make broad assumptions about it.

Well I guess that tells me what I need to know. Clearly you are OK to make broad assumptions about poverty.

Some day you'll surprise me I'm sure. Until then...

Avoided? Sure. For the simple reason that it wasn't relevant to what I was saying.

And I'm sure you'd see that if you weren't going in for ####### for tat.

Democrats love poverty thats why they keep ppl there. Then come election time they can profess theyre compassion for them and how much they care. Its really quite obvious and you know it. Being so invested in this thinking makes you blind.
