International Foods Markets

Ok so I have heard some of ya's mention that you live near an international foods market or something of the like, I have googled and searched and cant seem to find one near me. Maybe I am doing it wrong. I would just like to find a shop that sells stuff my hubby would want when he gets to missing home, obviously its no rush as he isnt here yet, but it would be nice to find somewhere for a surpise for him.

Whole foods is pretty good to find Irish food, As butter, cheese, tea...

Maybe this wil help you in your search, go to Kroger's or Publix or any major chain of grocery stores in Charlotte and talked to the store manger. All major chain of stores have a company called Specailty Foods that service their stores with products from different countries. If the store manager is good at his/her job he/she will try to located products for you. Also if you have a good friend who is in the armed services asked them to look at the commissary. If the commissary does not have the product ask your friend to talked to the Commissary Officer about getting the product. I work for a major meat company and we get request all the time from the Commissary for different kinds of meat that isn't usually sold in American stores. If you still can't find the product drop me a e-mail with the list of products and I will see if I can help you located them.

Thanks alot Bubba, I will check with Kroger as we dont have a local publix I did find a Whole foods market with the help of Jo. Thanks for all the help everyone.

If your area is anything like where I live (about hour and a half west of Charlotte) the idea of "international" foods is half an aisle of taco mixes

However, we do have a small selection of imported cheeses and Irish butter at Bi-Lo of all places.

Other than that, I order on-line anything I miss from home. There are quite a few on-line stores where you can find foods.

Yeah, I am about 35 minutes north of Charlotte, glad to know your local....LOL i know what ya mean about Bi-Lo, I found some cheeses and some butters, and wal-mart are starting to carry them as well, I was thinking more along the lines of my hubbys tea and biscuits, birds custard, hp sauce, country relish. etc. My mum in law usually sends us stuff but I didnt want to have her going out of her way all the time and I thought it would be a nice suprise for Niall! Not to mention we like to shop for groceries together. Thanks for all the help everyone!

Thats actually a local Pub, we havent been there but I have a friend who knows the owners and we met a fella who pulls pints for them on occasion, seems like a cool place, we may check it out when he comes back!
