Thanks Fuzz, totally agree...in retrospect he's not worth my typing time, but ah well...felt nice. He's sooooooooooo rude!!!

Anyway, yeah...Craig's bro in law has to come to the states for business all the time, and always flies Virgin..says it's the best too..but always heard they were a lot more expensive....

Air India had a special deal right now...but we usually use BA or United... M.

we HAVE purchased a ticket, idiot.

If you purchased a ticket, then why is he still in England?

And, may I just add... where is Craig? Has he posted in the forum recently? I would like him to tell us why he isn't returning?

Methinks Michelle has some anger issues. Tsk tsk tsk.

Michelle.. so sorry to hear of the delay... HUGSSS to you ...

I have indeed flown AirIndia.. went to Mumbai via Los Angeles to Frankfurt to Mumbai.

Flight attendants were very helpful. Food was indeed all Indian. choice of veg or non veg.

Awsome to say the least. drinks were free.. mmm lets see movie screens on the seat ahead of you but.. seat space still rather cramped.. dont seat in the bulkhead.. augh those damn armrests dont move.

Remember if you get a seat you dont like hope that the plane in not too crowded and move..

Going to India I got a whole row to self.. but on the return from Frankfurt to Los Angeles the plane was PACKED.. over booked and the most uncomfortable 12 hour flight I have ever taken.. aughh.

but that is not AIR INDIA.. just a packed plane.. and bad seat.. hahah .

If I have the choice again.. would only do it if i could afford to upgrade to Business..

Would have loved to take BA on that flight.. so far as flights I have ever flown.. British Air rocks.. best seat comfort.... Air India still was better than American. anyday..

Think positive... things will be good..

Hi Michelle,

My mother in law and brother in law just flew Air India last month from Heathrow here to Chicago (on account of a special they were running at the time, also) and didn't have a great experience.

All the food was Indian, which is to be expected, but I was told it was exceptionally spicy, which they couldn't handle. On their particular flight, they didn't have individual screens in the seats ahead of them; rather the somewhat dated monitors in the aisle which played first an Indian film with no subtitles and then Nanny McPhee with nothing but Indian music playing over it and no dialogue at all.

When they flew back, they had the same issues.

Anyway, just relaying the experience they had on that particular airline. I'm sure that everyone that flies it doesn't have that experience but I personally wouldn't chance it and fly something else. My husband has always flown on BA and I have always flown United with great experiences on each.

Hope this was helpful.

Jodie

awwwww bummer Jodie...sorry to hear that :( and I hope Janet's experience was more what Craig's will be! Alas, the ticket is already booked, and it was more down to money than anything else, so he could return as soon as possible with some cash in hand. He has nearly enough(after a couple more days of work) for the ticket, and he will be able to have a week 1/2 or so worth of wages to bring back this way. Thanks for your views tho, and I hope, as I said that his flight is better than theirs was.

As a sidenote...Craig loves!!! spicy food, so THAT shouldn't be a problem at least!! M.(Indian, curries, etc)

I've flown Air India - years ago tho - to India

It was an OK flight - I liked the food cos it was different but it was tasty - the weirdest thing for me was the odd assortment of handluggage the other passengers, mostly Asian, brough aboard. I kid you not when I say they had boxed TV's, (BIG ones, not portables) the largest hand bags I had ever seen that weren't required to go in the HOLD - seriously one woman had to have TWO people carrying hers and she could barely get it down the aisle even lifting it over the seats.

The stews were all very nice - but as I remember all the movies were Bollywood ones (Indian-made all-singing, all-dancing). This was fine for the flight - the fact I spent the next 6 weeks immersed in Bollywood movies on every coach I went on kinda soured me to them tho

My advice - If its cheap - go for it - it's only a few hours after all.

Edit - as for a certain person's comments - why do you CARE? Or is Mich your new best friend for whom you wish only joy and happiness? Somehow I doubt it - but this is for you: 5.gif

I don't quite understand this, Michelle. If Craig's intention was to return to America, he would purchase A ... RETURN... TICKET!

Your story makes little sense.

Yaaaaawwwwwwwwwn. Oi. It's back.

Pay it no mind, peeps, and like a toothache it might just go away.

I don't know how I missed this thread... am sorry you went through so much ######... but am glad things are sorting themselves out.

I flew Air India to Perth, Australia... I got food poisoning thanks to the oh so wonderful food both en route to Perth and on the way back... I will NEVER fly Air India again.

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)
