Does it at least have a downtown?

Not a conventional one. We have a smattering of skyscrapers on large lots, and an aging town-esque main street like thing.

Sounds to me like what you have there is the worst of both worlds - a densely packed suburb! :P

might be!

On a purely objective level, there probably are too many people in the US as there are on the planet as a whole, well, if one wants everyone to have a shot at a decent standard of living anyway, and probably for the sustainability of the planet. However, stopping immigration isn't going to solve that problem. It might paper over the cracks for a while but solving it, not a chance.

All this effort going into the 'hatred' against when it could be going into postive efforts for...oh well.

Thanks for putting some perspective back into the thread. Controlling positive immigration only goes so far. Standard of living is controlled by things more domestic like resource consumption, and we are sadly the world's worst consumers. At least numerically, if we want to keep our standard of living high, we are going to have to reduce the number of Americans consuming like there is no other thing to do on the planet. Or reduce the number of Americans. Change habits or change the people. People can take their pick.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Gotcha.

Oh yeah, a "small city" should have lots of early 1900's brownstones! :)

The city I live in now is considered a "small city" and it wasn't incorporated until 1960. No brownstones here, and 2903/sq mi.

way too busy for me. i opt for platy's idea.

count me with platys idea ....

ROFL!

All of my firepower is hidden away, off-site. Brits + guns don't work so well together.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Right now the entire planet's population (of humans) could fit inside Rhode Island.. with room to spare. The world ain't so crowded.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Each person would have a 2ft by 2ft square. Food and water not included.
